متن کاملGoing chiral: overlap versus twisted mass fermions
We compare the behavior of overlap fermions, which are chirally invariant, and of Wilson twisted mass fermions at full twist in the approach to the chiral limit. Our quenched simulations reveal that with both formulations of lattice fermions pion masses of O(250 MeV) can be reached in practical applications. Our comparison is done at a fixed value of the lattice spacing a ≃ 0.123 fm. A number o...
متن کاملOverlap fermions on a twisted mass sea
We present first results of a mixed action project. We analyze gauge configurations generated with two flavors of dynamical twisted mass fermions. Neuberger’s overlap Dirac operator is used for the valence sector. The various choices in the setup of the simulation are discussed. We employ chiral perturbation theory to describe the effects of using different actions in the sea and valence sector...
متن کاملChiral perturbation theory for twisted mass QCD
Quantum Chromodynamics on a lattice with Wilson fermions and a chirally twisted mass term for two degenerate quark flavours is considered in the framework of chiral perturbation theory. The pion masses and decay constants are calculated in next-to-leading order including terms linear in the lattice spacing a. We treat both unquenched and partially quenched QCD. We also discuss the phase structu...
متن کاملSTUDY OF NUCLEAR LEVEL DENSITY AND SPIN CUT-OFF FACTORS
Nuclear level densities and spin cut-off factors have been deduced for nuclei in the mass region 24‹A‹63,from a microscopic theory, which includes nuclear pairing interaction. Single particle levels for both Seeger and Nilsson potentials were used in the calcdations. Level densities extracted from the theory are compared with their conesponding experimental values, It is found that the overall...
